A class titled “Marketing Your Timber: What the landowner needs to know” is scheduled from 6:30 to 9 p.m. March 15 at the Polk County Fairgrounds 4-H youth building in Bolivar.

The event is sponsored by the University of Missouri Extension. 

Cost is $25 per person per night or $30 per couple. Registration is through the Hickory County MU Extension office in Hermitage. Call (417) 745-6767 or email halleranw@missouri.edu.

The program is part of the Missouri Woodland Steward program. The talks will teach how to get the highest price for timber and leave a healthy forest for future harvests and revenue. The timber sales contract, minimizing the timber sales tax and best management practices also will be discussed.
