Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. Burial at 2:30 p.m. in Charity Christian Church Cemetery, Charity. Visitation: 9 to 11 a.m. prior to services at the funeral home.

The Rev. David White will officiate. Memorials may be made to Gideons.

Alfred Rue Patrick, 85, was born June 8, 1929, in Carthage, the son of Hodgen O. Sr. and Myrtle B. (Kerr) Patrick. He died May 8, 2015, at his home in Barnett.

He was united in marriage with Carol L. Miller on Sept. 22, 1990, in Bolivar.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eldon, and was saved in 1953 and was also a member of Gideons.

He was a hard man with a gentle soul that instilled his values to his children and grandchildren.  He was a lifelong dairy farmer and a lover of ice cream.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol, on April 5, 2001; one son, Charles Timothy Patrick; and six siblings.

Survivors include his daughters: June and husband, Charles Stiegmann, Winslow, Ariz., Paula Brown and son-in-law, Larry Brown, Barnet, Peggy and husband, Cleve Bancroft, Buffalo; stepson, JR Smitherman, Buffalo; 12 grandchildren: John, Gary, Tim, Shannon, Jimmy, Shawn, Jennifer, Tina, Samantha, Chad, Charity and Chip; 27 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Martha Newton, Granby.
