Services: Cremation rites were accorded by Montgomery-Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Burial will be at a later date in Four Mile Cemetery.

Bessie Sherman, 85, was born Aug. 4, 1930, in Diagonal, Iowa, the daughter of Monroe E. and Lola Fern (Keller) Camden. She died May 2, 2016, at her home.

She was united in marriage with Benjamin Franklin Sherman.

She attended Cedar Ridge Church, and worked at several jobs over the years, including the R. H. McKimmey Turkey farm, waitressing at L & F truckstop, helping her husband on the farm and cutting firewood. She was a housewife and mother, and helped raise her grandson Kevin.

She enjoyed hunting, fishing, gigging, rock hunting, gardening and writing poetry.

Bessie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Joyce Daugherty; one son, Charles Sherman; a brother, Everett Camden; and three great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her four children: Jim and wife, Georgia Tuning, Dave and wife, Candy Tuning, Barbara Jean and husband, Larry Ingerly, and Susan and husband, Randy Beheler; one sister, Mary Rogers; a sister-in-law, Theresa Camden; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
