Billy James “Jim” Brixey, 74, of Buffalo, Mo., died Sept. 14, 2018, after a short battle with brain cancer.

He began working for Frisco in the 1970s and in 1987 transferred to BNSF in Fort Worth, Texas, where he retired in 1999. He and Sharon then moved back to Missouri to enjoy retirement with family.

He was a very proud American, lifelong member of the National Rifle Association and a Master Gardener. He enjoyed the races, fishing, hunting and mostly his gardening.

Jim was preceded in death by best friend and sister, Jeanne Brixey; father, Loy Brixey; and mother, Mary Helene Davis.

Survivors include his loving wife, Sharon; his four children: Scott Brixey, Elkland, Mo., and Lucinda Soden (Doug), Mark Brixey (Corinne) and Lori Hodges (John), all of Springfield, Mo.; three stepsons: Wesley Rash (Angie), Buffalo, Rocky Rash, Elkland, and Lance Rash (Michelle), Halfway, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and aunt, Henrietta Burch, Springfield, all of whom will miss him greatly.
