Memorial service: 2 p.m. Saturday, April 9, Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton. Visitation: 1 to 2 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.

Carol Ruth Elena Beaman, 71, was born Jan. 14, 1945, in Camdenton, the daughter of Kelly Elsworth and Madeline Margaret Williams Edwards Webb. She died April 1, 2016, in University Hospital, Columbia.

She was united in marriage with John Prentice Beaman on July 20, 1970, in Miami, Okla.

She lived in the Camdenton area most of her life. She worked as a waitress and cook in several restaurants.

She was very involved with her children’s activities. She was president of the PTA and served as a Cub Scout den mother. She served on the Board of Aldermen for the town of Mack Creek and was on the planning committee for the Fourth of July picnic.

She was saved and was a Baptist. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, dancing and playing games. She loved to be outdoors tending her flowers.

Most of all, time spent with her family was precious to her. She was a loving mom, grandma, sister and aunt, and always did her best to make sure all were welcome in her home.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 28 years on Aug. 9, 1998; a son, Bruce Wallander; a granddaughter, Alma Chandler; and a sister, Barbara Burns.

Survivors include her children: Kelly and wife, Eydie Wallander, Montreal, Mo., Angela and husband, David Arnold, Macks Creek, Coty and wife, Amy Beaman, Camdenton, Madeline and husband, James Kincaid, Camdenton, Christina  and husband, Rob Mitchell, Macks Creek, Sharon Kay Ford, California, John “Sonny” Beaman II, Sedalia, and Jesse Beaman, Arkansas; 26 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her siblings: Janice and husband, Gene McGuire, Kelly and wife, Kim Edwards, and Brad and wife, Chris Edwards, all of Camdenton, Neal and wife, Nicki Edwards, and Timothy Edwards, all of Kansas City; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends who will greatly miss her.
