Graveside service: 11 a.m. Monday, May 2, White Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield. Visitation: 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Carolyn AnnĀ  (Buckner) Johnson, 74, Fair Grove, was born Dec. 22, 1941, in Springfield, the daughter of Benjamin and Velta Buckner. She died April 28, 2016, at Mercy Hospital.

She had been employed at Bass Pro Catalog for 22 years, and was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church.

She loved playing bingo with her friends, fishing, traveling, and cruising Kearney Street with her teenage children and grandchildren. She loved her grandchildren dearly.

She was a precious mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a world traveler who jumped in the car anytime it was moving. She loved life and her family and has left such a sweet legacy of love and acceptance of all.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her children: Kim and husband, Rodney Faught, Melissa and husband, Mike Swearengin, and Shannon and wife, Teresa Johnson; six grandchildren: Brandi Fetterhoff, Sierra Faught, Ashley and Tanner Forshee, and Cole and Makenzie Johnson; four great-grandchildren: Cameron and Caleb Fetterhoff, Easton Hord and Englynd Forshee; one brother, Charles Buckner; one sister, Betty and husband, Lowell Kennemer; and special friends: Jeanne Stinson and Phillis Irvine.
