Services are 1 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at Buffalo First Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Brad Duff officiating. Music is by David Hartwell. Burial is in Macedonia Cemetery under the direction of Montgomery-Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo.

Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Montgomery-Viets Funeral Home.

Escorts are Randy Case, Brian Owens, Justin Owens, Michael Owens, Mikey Owens and Tim Robie. Honorary escorts are Dale Hartwell, Ronnie Robie, Allen White and Mike White.

Helen Louise Hale, 82, was born Feb. 26, 1929, in Rushville, Ind., the daughter of Chester Ray Hartwell and Nellie and Andy Suttee. She died May 12, 2011, at her home in Buffalo.

She was a devoted Christian and a member of Buffalo First Free Will Baptist Church where she loved her extended church family.

She worked 30 years in a garment factory and after retiring from Keys she sold Avon.

She also enjoyed spending time with her family, loved sewing, crafts and solving word puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Polly Ann; her husband, Hubert White; Virgil Suttee, Charles Hartwell, Claud Suttee and Violet Fowler.

Survivors include her husband, Pat Hale; her daughters: Janet and David Owens, and Rebecca and husband, Dale Myers; grandsons: Michael David and wife, Paula Owens, Brian Ray and wife, Rhonda Owens and Josh Richardson; granddaughters: Jaima Richerson, Logan Myers and Sydney Myers; great-grandchildren: Michael Joseph Owens, Justen Brian Owens, Kayle Renee Owens, Emily Louise Owens, Samantha Jo Owens, Trent and Ashley Berry and Stephani Barrett; great-great-grandson, Brodee Lee Barrett; sister, May and Floyd White; brother, Clifford and wife, Loretta Hartwell; and sister-in-law, Gladys Hartwell.
