Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Cantlon Otterness Funeral Chapel with Bro. Dennis Smith officiating. Music is provided by her nephew Dwight and wife, Majuana Kibby and family. Burial is in Oak Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Cantlon Otterness Funeral Home of Buffalo. Memorials can be made to Fair Haven Children’s Home of Strafford or Transitions Hospice of Bolivar.

Imogene Snider, 95, was born March 10, 1916, near Fair Grove, the daughter of Elisha Greene Potter and Rosa Jane (Bass) Potter. She died Dec. 9, 2011, at Buffalo Prairie Care Center, Buffalo.

She was the youngest of 10 children in her family. She attended school in Elkland and graduated from Fair Grove High School. She lived in Dallas and Polk counties all of her life.

She  was united in marriage with Dorman Snider on Feb. 20, 1938.

She was a wonderful mother, and her first love was her family. She was a devoted member of the Church of Christ and faithfully attended as long as her health permitted.

She lived life to the fullest, enjoying gardening and cooking, and she was known for her cinnamon rolls, homemade bread and gooseberry pies. She also liked sewing and quilting. The true treasure of her life was her family, which she dearly loved.

She was a published author with her book, “A Long Years Journey,” a story of the Depression years. She was also an artist, using natural elements as her medium.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, David Snider; two brothers: C.O. Potter and C.E. Potter; and seven sisters: Jewell Cannefax, Ruby Davison, Sylvia Wheeler, Chrystal Whitson, Pearl Kelty, Marie Potter and Eunice Pitts.

Survivors include one daughter, Rose Mary Snider, Springfield; one son, John and wife, Vicki Snider, Halfway; eight grandchildren: Dennis and wife, Sheila Ragsdale, Melissa Ragsdale, Teresa and husband, Ron LaMear, Lisa Lee, Wendy and husband, Greg Helbig, Steve and wife, Jill Snider, Jennifer and husband, Terry Bradley, and Bryan and wife, Rachel Snider; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and other family members, her church family and many friends who will truly miss her.
