Jeanne Marie Gillett was born Nov. 24, 1948, in Comstock, Mich., the daughter of Alfred and Lydia Marie (Rogalla) Gillett.

She lived in her own little apartment in Rose Park in Bolivar, Mo., and enjoyed visits with her neighbors.

In May 2018 she felt the need to have more care and moved to Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility in Bolivar, where she lived until her death. She enjoyed the various activities the nursing staff arranged.

She renewed her vows to God 14 years ago and was faithfully attending a worldwide nondenominational church group that met in homes with ministers who went forth as Jesus sent his apostles. Her love for God and his way was very apparent to all who knew her. She loved reading her Bible and singing hymns. When she could no longer read or sing, she loved to have the Bible read to her and the hymns sung to her. She would often move her lips as people were singing though her voice was too weak to hear.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant son, Eddie Newbatt.

Survivors include two daughters: Angela Marie King, Mountain Grove, Mo., and Melissa Cantrell, Bolivar, Mo.; one son, Jared Newbatt, Carthage, Ariz.; two brothers: Alfred Gillett, Arizona, and Dan Gillett, Texas; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention. She loved her family dearly and will be missed very much by them and many others.
