Lorene J. Simmons, 86, of Macks Creek was born May 14, 1931, in Dry Ridge, the daughter of Alvie and Olivia (Green) Hicks. She died Jan. 11, 2018, at Windsor Estates, Camdenton.
On May 14, 1949, she was united in marriage with Paul Dean Simmons in Branch.
She was a loving and devoted wife and helpmate to her husband. She was also a caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her children and their families.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading. She also served on the board of the Macks Creek Senior Center.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 60 years, Paul Dean Simmons, on Aug. 3, 2009; brother, Kenneth; and sisters: Reva, Fern and Irene.
Survivors include her sons: Rick and wife, Carol, and Ron and wife, Becky, all of Independence; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Fordia Glanville; and two brothers: Len and wife, Pricillia, and Jack and wife, Adeline.
