Lubie G. Estes, 74, of Louisburg, Mo., was born May 23, 1944, in LaGrange, Ga. He died Oct. 1, 2018.

He served in the U.S. Navy for four years during the Vietnam War.

He earned a teaching certificate in Florida and a degree in horticulture. He loved working and being outside, which served him well in various jobs and later interests and hobbies.

Survivors include his wife, Diana; his son, Bo Samec; granddaughters: Taylor Samec and Kylie Samec; and a sister, Jean Grimsley.
