Graveside service: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, Goff Cemetery, Bolivar, under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home, Pitts Chapel, Bolivar. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pastor William Nichols officiated. Memorials may be made to the Bolivar Senior Center.

Milferd Kaudle, 89, Bolivar, was born Aug. 9, 1925, in Polk County, the son of Roscoe and Abbie (Able) Kaudle. He died Aug. 16, 2014, at Citizens Memorial Healthcare, Bolivar

While working at Kansas City Terminal Railroad, he was united in marriage to Patricia Allen on June 1, 1948, in Kansas City.

He went to grade school at Union Republic, Bolivar until seventh grade. He finished his schooling at Louisburg, and graduated in 1942.

He joined the U.S. Navy in 1943 and received an honorable discharge in 1946. He later went to work for the Union Pacific in 1949 and retired in 1986.

He was a member of the First Christian Church of Bolivar.

He was a longtime member of the Masons and Eastern Star, and the White Shiners. He liked to play the guitar and loved spending time at the senior center playing pool.  He will be missed by his dear friends and schoolmates who he stayed in contact with for many years, especially Gordon Cauldwell and Pauline Atchley and her family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 63 years, Patricia Ann Kaudle.
