Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, Cantlon Otterness Funeral Home of Buffalo. Burial in Memorial Gardens of Memory.

Visitation: 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Robert Lance Beamer, 56, was born Jan. 16, 1959, in Mexico, Mo., the son of Bob Beamer and Anne (West) Johnson. He died April 18, 2015, at Citizens Memorial Healthcare, Bolivar.

He graduated from Mexico High School where he participated in the barbershop quartet, chorus and band. He went on and attended Central Missouri State University where he met his wife, Joy.

Lance began his career as a bicycle paperboy. In his adult life he went on to manage restaurants in Mexico, Mo., Warrensburg, Kansas City, St. Louis, Springfield and owned a restaurant in Buffalo, Gene's Welcome Home Restaurant. After 20 years in restaurants, he switched careers and went into the radio business where he was the general manager of 107.7 FM, The Lake radio in Stockton.

He was a motorcycle enthusiast and avid role-playing video gamer. His real job was a loving father and devoted husband. His greatest pleasure in life was having grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Joy, of the home; one son, Toby Beamer and fiancee April Eley, Buffalo; one daughter, Jazmyne Beamer and partner, Jacob Custer, Buffalo; his father, Bob and wife, Shirley Beamer, Renick; his mother, Anne Johnson, Mexico, Mo.; two brothers: Dan and wife, Carol Beamer, Corvallis, Ore., and Tyler Beamer, Renick; four sisters: Robyn Huibregtse, Janesville, Wis., Penny and husband, Michael Daughtery, Mexico, Mo., Pam and husband, John Little, Decatur, Ill., and Amanda Beamer, Moberly; three grandchildren: Alexis Beamer, Madelyn Eley and Austin Eley; 20 nieces and nephews; 10 great-nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members who will all truly miss him.
