Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, Montgomery-Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Burial in New Hope Cemetery, Louisburg.

The Rev. Loren Dryer and Chaplain James Friend officiated. Music was recorded selections of “Go Rest High on That Mountain,” “Rock of Ages” and “In the Garden.” Memorials may be made to CMH Hospice.

Escorts were Nathan Rambo, Brandon Rambo, Scott Rambo, Stacy Rambo, Nicholas Crowe, Christopher Crowe and Josh Prust.

Shelby G. Rambo, 86, was born Dec. 13, 1928, in Dallas County, the son of Elmer and Dorthy (Smith) Rambo. He died Feb. 18, 2015, at his home in rural Urbana, following a long illness.

He served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked at Hallmark for 32 years in the Creative Workshop.

He liked antique cars, the Louisburg Picnic and was a member of the Louisburg Lions Club and Cherry Grove Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Shelton Rambo; and two sisters: RaJean Rambo and Roneca Arnn.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, of the home; three children: Larry Joe Rambo, Jerry Dale Rambo and Michael Lee Crowe; two sisters: Ramona Waggoner and Leuritta Rountree; two brothers: Sanford Rambo and Stanley Rambo; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
