Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30, Cantlon Otterness Funeral Home in Urbana. Burial in Bower Chapel Cemetery. Visitation: 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

Sylvia Irene (Nease) Dickey, 86, was born Jan. 2, 1929, in Warsaw, the daughter of Earl and Winnie (Weyer) Nease. She died Nov. 24, 2015, at Colonial Springs Healthcare Center, Buffalo.

She was reared and attended school in Warsaw.

She was united in marriage to Calvin Dickey on July 2, 1954, in Kansas City, and together they made their home in Kansas City.

She trained as a hairdresser with her sister May, and later worked at a mercantile store called National Bellas Hess.

After her husband's retirement, they moved to Hermitage. She enjoyed word search books, reading the paper, especially “The Chigger,” making Italian foods and going out to eat with her friends. She attended a Catholic church while they lived in Kansas City.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Calvin; four brothers: Orville Nease, Howard Nease, Lee Nease and Austin Nease; and her two sisters: Carrie Proctor and May Weaver.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews; and other family members and friends who will all truly miss her.
