I came to study at the College of Metaphysics (COM), located in Windyville, with the intention of developing trust and security within myself. I found a lot more than that.
At the COM we practice the application, during our day-to-day activities, of ten essential life skills taught in the first cycle of lessons. Understanding how to wield these skills opens the door to the intelligent, creative and expansive power of our minds.
The ten skills include self-respect, undivided attention, concentration, memory, listening, imagination, reasoning, intuition, breath and entrainment. At the COM every class is an opportunity to implement these. Gardening, caring for the animals, cheese and butter making, and maintaining the grounds around the campus are all activities to delve into for our self-development and success.
In garden class the number one rule is to always know where your feet are, a function of attention. The purpose is to be mindful of our surroundings and avoid damaging what has been planted. Making cheese and coordinating it around classes requires the ability to employ visualization which encompasses reasoning and imagination. In learning how to herd and milk cows, I see how I am improving all of these mental skills, which build the trust, confidence and security I seek within myself.
We also study in-depth analysis of dreams and their significance in our lives. Dreams are messages from our soul providing guidance in our waking life towards our spiritual development. Exploring their meaning and insight brings to our awareness the knowledge held within ourselves to make more desirable choices encouraging living life to the fullest. We use the Universal Language of mind to decipher the messages in our dreams.
Dreams are symbolic and in picture language. For example, if you dream of a beach the dream is talking about your emotional state the day before the dream.
