Circuit Court of Dallas County, associate division, met during the week of Sept. 28-Oct. 4, 2012, with the following officers present: Judge Lisa Henderson, presiding; Susan Potter, clerk; Barbara J. Activities of the Buffalo Police Department:

Oct. 2, officer initiated a traffic stop on South Ash for a driver known to have an outstanding warrant. Driver consented to a vehicle search and contraband was found in vehicle and on passenger. Both subjects were transported to the detention center.

Oct. 3, officer made contact with a male subject at a gas station for the odor of intoxicants. A field sobriety test was performed, and the subject was attested for driving while intoxicated and transported to the detention center.

Oct. 4, officer responded to the old city park in reference to somebody shooting squirrels with a gun. Two subjects sitting on a park bench stated they saw a kid shoot a squirrel with a gun and leave the park in a truck. The truck was located, and the subject in question admitted to shooting the squirrel. The mother of the juvenile subject arrived on scene. Officer advised the mother of the situation and released the subject into her custody.

Oct. 5, officers were dispatched to a business on West Main in reference to a male subject attempting to gain access to parked vehicles. Contact was made, and the subject stated he was attempting to seek shelter from the rain by opening the vehicle doors. Owner of a vehicle the subject was tampering with arrived and signed a statement regarding the incident. Suspect was transported to the detention center.

Oct. 5, officer initiated a traffic stop on a Dodge truck near the intersection of Jefferson and Maple. License plates on the Dodge were registered to a Chevrolet. Driver had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Suspect was transported to the detention center to await extradition.

Oct. 5, officers were dispatched to East Franklin in reference to theft. Reporting  party stated his gasoline-powered generator was stolen from his porch. A description of a possible suspect was obtained.

Oct. 5, officer was dispatched to South Locust for a stolen vehicle. Victim stated her 1998 Pontiac Grand Am was stolen by a male suspect. The suspect had stayed at her residence from Sept. 20-25. She discovered the suspect and her vehicle gone on Sept. 25. The victim stated she did not give the suspect permission to use her vehicle. Investigation to continue.

Oct. 5, officer was dispatched to West Dallas for a disturbance. Female reporting party stated a male suspect reported for work and was intoxicated. The suspect was told to leave and refused. Officer made contact with the suspect who had uncertain balance and a strong odor of intoxicants. The suspect stated he was told to leave, but he wanted to talk with the owner. The suspect was arrested and transported to the detention center. He was issued a citation for disorderly conduct and released to a sober family member.

Oct. 6, officers received a walk-in report of a stolen purse. Reporting party stated she left her purse in an unsecured parked vehicle on North Maple. Items stolen included cash, dentures, audio recorder, calculator, hard drive, hard drive cable, credit card and a checkbook.

Oct. 7, officer initiated a traffic stop at Mo. 32 and U.S. 65 for no visible front license plate. The occupants consented to a search of the vehicle. Two backpacks revealed two separate bags of marijuana, one belonging to each occupant. Occupants were transported to the detention center and issued citation for possession of marijuana under 35 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
