The Dallas County Historical Society will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Buffalo Head Prairie Historical Park on South Ash Street in Buffalo.

We are pleased this month to host Dr. Arthur L. Mallory as our speaker. He will tell us about his early days in Dallas County when there were many rural schools and the consolidation of those schools to form what we know today as Dallas County R-1 Schools. Mallory's father, Dillard A. Mallory, was instrumental in its formation.

The meeting begins at 1 p.m., but the museum will be open beginning at 10 a.m. for research. Plan to join us. Everyone is welcome.
