Dallas County Shape Up is back for a 2018 fall session.

Shape Up is a free eight-week physical activity, lifestyle and weight-loss accountability campaign. The campaign will begin Friday, Sept. 14, and end Friday, Nov. 9.

Participants weigh in weekly at a designated weigh-in location, and report if they met the weekly minimum physical activity requirements and whether they completed the lifestyle challenge (further detailed information will be included in the registration packets).

Three weekly prizes are awarded, including the following: the person with the greatest weight-loss percentage receives a prize, and physical activity and lifestyle challenge prizes are awarded by a drawing.

Three grand prizes are awarded — first, second and third place in the weight-loss division for the greatest percentage of weight lost. The top 10 percent of weight-loss participants will receive a T-shirt. All prizes are awarded on an individual basis.

Shape Up participants have the option to purchase a Shape Up T-shirt; order forms are included in registration packets. T-shirts are $9 for sizes small to extra-large; $11 for 2XL; $12 for 3XL; $13 for 4XL; and $14 for 5XL. Order forms and payments need to be returned to the Dallas County Health Department by Friday, Sept. 14.

Registration packets are available at the Dallas County Health Department and the Dallas County Area YMCA, or registration documents can be found on the Health Department’s website at dallascountyhealth.com. The last day to register is Friday, Sept. 14.
