A group of 17 women showed up Sept. 12 to spend the day quilting, sewing and having a wonderful lunch.

A friendship quilt is in the works, as well as a maple leaf quilt, and some of the gals hand-quilted. The cross quilt was finished and will be auctioned off at the Cherry Grove Fall Festival on Oct. 12.

Don’t forget to go to the Springfield Quilt Show at the E-Plex on Sept. 27-29. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission is $10 per day, or $18 for a three-day pass. Ozark Piecemakers puts this on, and it is well worth going to.

Family services would like some quilts for children, so they will have something of their own when they are removed from their homes. We will check on what we have and get them some. We have an abundance of quilts at this time, so we would like to share them with the community.

Sharon showed a tumbling block baby quilt that was very nice.

Happy quilting!
