Audrey Lorraine Hicks

Audrey was born August 23, 1937 in Muskegon, Michigan, the daughter of William Jonathan Spence and Lillian Polmanteer Spence. She departed this life.

August 27, 1955 she was united in marriage with Dennis Boyd Hicks. To this union three sons were born, Michael Boyd Hicks, Mark William Hicks, and Charles Dennis Hicks. She and her husband were married for 48 years before he passed away from cancer in 2003.

In 1988 they retired and moved back to Dallas County, to be close to her parents. They built a home in Buffalo. She was an active member of the Buffalo Methodist Church. She loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a passion for genealogy, shared family history with many. She was a member of the DAR. She also loved flowers, especially her Rose Gardens.

She was a bookkeeper at Woolf Brothers, Kansas City, Mo, married her husband and became a stay at home mother! She served as Church Secretary in several churches, and as Secretary to the Pastor in Oklahoma City. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School and Bible School for many years!

Her husband Dennis, her parents, two sisters, Connie McIntyre, and Virginia Mowery, a nephew Christopher Mowery preceded her in death.

Visitation will be Friday, Mar 12th at the Cantlon-Otterness Funeral Home from 6-8 PM, 931 W Main St, Buffalo, Missouri.

She is survived by three sons, Michael from Austin, TX, Mark from Charlotte NC, and Charles from Nashville, TN. Five grandchildren, Amanda, Jonathan and Denise, Jacob and Kristine, Cortney Melissa & Jacob and Merina A. Hicks. Four great-grandchildren, Christopher Ethan Boyd Hicks, Layla Elizabeth Hicks, Gwendolyn Peacock, and Jesselle Arenstein. Nieces, Vicki and Dan Bredeman, Teri and Hugh Henke, Heather and Eric Haas, Nephews, John A. McIntyre Ill, Alan McIntyre and Annette.

Graveside services will be 10:00 am Saturday, March 13, 2021 in the New Hope Cemetery in Louisburg, Missouri with burial to follow in the cemetery under the direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo, Missouri.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, March 12, 2021 in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home in Buffalo, Missouri.
