Bertha May Oliver, daughter of the late John and Laura (Gibson) Bowles was born on April 21, 1939 in Coal Hill, AR, and departed this life on July 1, 2020 at her home in Buffalo, MO. At the time of her passing she was 81 years, two months, and nine days of age.

Bertha was reared and attended school in Oregon and southwest Missouri.

She was united in marriage to Herschell Wayne Oliver on July 9, 1955 and to this union three boys blessed the home. Bertha enjoyed cooking and sewing for her family and had a newfound love for the internet. She spent many hours reconnecting and communicating with family through Facebook.

Bertha worked at the Victorian Steakhouse for many years and she formed many lasting friendships.

She was saved at an early age and loved her Lord and Savior.

Bertha was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband Herschell of the home; three sons, John Wayne & wife Brenda Oliver, Donald Leon & wife Carol Oliver, and Daniel Jeremiah Oliver; two brothers, Leon Bowles and Leroy Bowles; four sisters, Ruby Witcher, Mary Lake, Barbara Ann Thomas, and Wanda Bowles; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She also leaves other family members and many friends who will all truly miss her.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2020 at the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Pyles officiating. Escorts will be family and friends in attendance. Interment will be in the Macedonia Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday at the Funeral Home.
