Charles Dewey “Duke” Stark age 76 of Buffalo, Missouri passed away Friday, August 7, 2020 at his home in Buffalo, MO. Duke was born June 27, 1944 to Claude and Blanche (Hodges) Stark.

He went to Tunas and Belton Schools before entering the United States Navy in 1961. Charles proudly served his country for 20 years before retiring in 1981.

He was married to Sachiko Stark, and to this union three sons were born. She passed away in 1984. He was united in marriage to Shirley Swanigan on December 21, 1985.

Charles liked old cars, riding motorcycles, and wood working. He was always a faithful attendee at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church and was a Lifetime Member on the VFW.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Blanche Stark; wife, Sachiko Stark; two brothers, Lee Stark and Bill Stark; and three sisters, Betty Ethridge, Mamie Percival, and Faye Stark.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Stark of the home; three sons, Rex & wife Karen Stark of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Tim & wife Kris Stark of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Jerry Stark of Brandon, South Dakota; one brother, Harvey & wife Peggy Stark of Tunas, Missouri; six grandchildren, Casey & wife Angie Stark, Cory Stark and fiancée Chelsie Hansen, Samantha Stark, Nicholas Stark, Mason Stark, and Blake Stark.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 in the Calvary Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in Buffalo, Missouri with the Pastor Mark Elliott and Dr. Douglas Earls officiating. Betsy Earls will be the organist. Pallbearers will be Rex Stark, Tim Stark, Jerry Stark, Casey Stark, Cory Stark, Mason Stark, Nicholas Stark, and Blake Stark. Honorary pallbearers will be Samantha Stark, Bill Case, Will Rogers, and Ernie Olsen. Interment will be in the Mission Ridge Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to the service time Tuesday, August 11, 2020 in the Calvary Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CMH Hospice in Bolivar, Missouri.
