The October meeting of the DIVAS was well attended. There were several new faces in attendance.

Donna Moriarty, OB/GYN nurse practitioner, was the guest speaker. She taught the group about women’s health issues and suggested steps to take for better overall health. She encouraged the group to eat better, to exercise and not to smoke. She also suggested vitamin supplements for specific health issues and offered up suggested reading, including thyroid care and sexual health.

The November meeting will be at a different time and location. The chamber-sponsored DIVAS group will partner with the Buffalo Reflex’s annual Women’s Summit, scheduled for midday on Nov. 15 at Market 116. The keynote speaker will be state Sen. Sandy Crawford. The newspaper will release more details as the event draws closer. Women are invited to attend during their lunch hour to shop, hear interesting speakers and visit with friends. Anyone is welcome to attend.
