Dallas County Neighborhood Center has implemented a project named the People’s Pantry. The People’s Pantry is a food and hygiene pantry available to anyone in the community who needs help with these items. The pantry is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is self-serve for anyone in need. The pantry doesn’t require income guidelines, appointments or holes to jump through.

The People’s Pantry was a concept to help low-income families who are having a hard time because of COVID-19. It turns out there is a need at different income levels.

DIVAS granted $1,000 through its Giving Circle affiliated with the Dallas County Community Foundation. The money will help keep the pantry stocked. Donations of nonperishable food or hygiene items are accepted. Drop off donations at 413 Maple St., Buffalo. The pantry is on the porch and open to all who are in need. The People’s Pantry quote reads, “Take What You Need, Leave What You Can, Pay It Forward.”

Monetary donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 543, Buffalo, MO 65611, or dropped off at the DCNC.
