Eva Marie Nessan Glor, 91, joined the Lord, her savior, on Saturday, January 9, 2021. She was born to Malcum and Lina (Stidham) Nessan on December 22, 1929 on the family farm in Tunas, Missouri.

Eva Marie is survived by her children, John Glor (wife, Bich Maya) and Evonne Miner (husband, Robert Miner), three grandchildren (Himali, Drake, and Broc), and sister-in-law (Donna Nessan).

Eva Marie was preceded in death by her brother, Dale, and her parents.

Eva Marie was saved by the grace of God at the age of 13. She was a member of Hopewell Free Will Baptist Church in Tunas, Missouri for over 78 years. Eva Marie taught Sunday school for many of those 78 years. She was also Bible School Director for decades.

Eva Marie graduated from Tunas Consolidated School Number 11 in 1948. She enrolled at Southwest Missouri State College in the fall of 1948. Her first employment was as a second grade teacher at Tunas for four years. She graduated from S.M.S. in 1955 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Her second employment was with the Macks Creek

R-5 School District as a Remedial Reading and Special Education teacher for eight years.

Eva Marie earned a Master’s degree in Special Education from the University of Missouri at Columbia. Eva Marie completed additional graduate credits by attending Drury College in Springfield, Missouri. She spent a summer in Europe studying comparative education as a graduate student.

Following eight years with the Macks Creek R-5 School District, employment was with the Dallas County R-1 School District. That employment included nine years as a Special Education teacher, Head Start teacher, and Home bound teacher. After completing graduate work and earning certification as an elementary counselor, Eva Marie was employed as the first elementary counselor for the Dallas County R-1 School District. Eva Marie held that position for twenty-two years, until her retirement in July 1993.

Eva Marie was a member and officer of numerous organizations at both local and state levels. She earned a host of awards, including induction in the Dallas County Schools Hall of Fame in 2016.

Eva Marie was the perfect mother to John and Evonne and the best “E-Me” on Earth to her grandchildren Broc, Drake, and Himali. She adored her daughter-in-law, Bich Maya, and her son-in-law, Robert (Bob) Miner. She dearly loved her family. Her family will forever love her and miss her hugs and kisses.

Out of respect for public health in this time of the Covid-19 pandemic, a celebration of life service will be held at Hopewell Free Will Baptist Church in Tunas, Missouri at a later date. The family will select a date, perhaps in summer or fall 2021, when more individuals have had an opportunity to receive a Covid-19 vaccination.
