Fount Kirk Jr. passed away peacefully May 1, 2019, at the Paseo Highlands Assisted Living Home, Phoenix, Ariz., with his family by his side and under the care of Infinity Hospice.
He was born Feb. 26, 1939, to Fount and Mildred (Johnston) Kirk in Urbana, Mo.
Fount attended the Urbana School through the eighth grade. He was valedictorian of his class.
His mother passed away because of an automobile crash in 1947. Junior, as he was known by family and friends, moved with his dad to Odessa, Mo., in 1953.
Junior attended high school in Odessa till he joined the Navy in March 1956.
Junior married Bobbie Carol Colvin on Oct. 17, 1958.
Junior was disability retired from the Navy in 1961. He attended business college and received an accounting degree.
He drove a semi truck for more than 3 million miles.
He married Frances Sieck Wagner on Feb. 17, 1978.
Fount is survived by his wife, Frances, of 41 years; stepson, James (Christine) Wagner; daughters: Dr. Janell Jones and Lisa (Todd) Nason; grandchildren: Anna Jones, Zackery Nason and Zoe Nason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fount and Mildred Kirk; two sisters: Mary and Irene; and five brothers: James, Wendell, Rody, Gail and Bill.
Fount will be cremated and buried at a later date.
