James “Jamie” Robert George

James “Jamie” Robert George age 68 of Buffalo, Missouri passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

Jamie was preceded in death by his father Estell L. George, mother Slyvia Fern (Evans) George, two brothers Estill George and Jerry George.

Survivors include his daughter Rachel Anne George of Buffalo; sister Marie George of Buffalo; brother Richard George and niece Lori George and Family of Cleburne, Tx; and niece Sue George. Nikki Berry, Brody Berry, Kenna Berry, Sarah Turner, Anja Mahan, and Stormy Vaughn aka “little one” all of Buffalo and known as his other kids. There are many others, as Jamie never knew a stranger. He had friends, some we don’t even know. Jamie would say they are family and not just friends.

His daughter Rachel was as he said “the best thing he ever did.” She was his life.

Buffalo meant so much to him. He made it his mission in life to give back to his community that he loved so much. Jamie served on the Buffalo City Fire and Rescue for 32 years and Buffalo Rural Fire Department for 50 years. He was appointed as Buffalo City Council member July 14, 2003 to present.

Jamie loved camping, word searches and helping people. He loved going to the casinos with his friends and daughter. Jamie would spend hours in the game room with Rachel, Nikki, Kenna, Brody and Sarah always striving for the prizes and never leaving until they all got what they wanted.

Jamie will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by so many.

Services will be Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cantlon Otterness & Viets Funeral Home in Buffalo. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens of Memory Cemetery under the direction of the Cantlon Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 24, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
