Mr. Kenneth Charles Swisher age 90 of Branson, Missouri was born on April 16, 1930 in Salina Kansas to Charles & Florence Swisher. He passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2020 in the Point Lookout Nursing and Rehab Center in Hollister, Missouri of Covid 19.

He grew up on a farm near Urbana, Missouri and graduated from Tunas High School in 1949. He was drafted into the service in January 1952 and assigned to the Marine Corps. He received the Korean Service Medal, United States Service Medal, Purple Heart, and National Defense Service medal. He was discharged in January of 1954.

After his service duty he came back to Missouri and was a truck driver for a laundry service in Kansas City. After the laundry service job he went to work for the Missouri Highway and Transportation Dept. where he retired in 1990. After retiring he moved back to the family farm and later to Buffalo, Missouri. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: James Paul Swisher (infant) and George Richard Swisher and one sister: Hazel Archer. Kenneth leaves to mourn his passing one sister: June and brother-in-law Vernon Doyle of Branson, Missouri; one sister-in-law Marilyn Swisher of Springfield, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was a kind & gentle person and will be missed by his family & friends.

Memorial graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2020 in the Memorial Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Rev. Loren Dryer officiating. Military Honors will follow under the direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
