Retha “Maxine” Moore, daughter of the late Samuel F. and Lena Florence (Hartley) Hartman, was born on January 6, 1923 in Marshfield, MO and departed this life on March 16, 2020 in Springfield, MO. At the time of her passing she was 97 years, 2 months, and 9 days of age.
Maxine moved to Springfield, MO with her family when she was two, and graduated from Central High School.
She was united in marriage to Oscar “Roscoe” Moore on July 26, 1946 and to this union three children were born, two of whom survive her.
She worked for Glasgow Men’s Wear as a seamstress for many years.
She enjoyed collecting recipes and working in her garden.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband Roscoe; her parents; one daughter, Karen Sue; and her brothers and sister.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Moore of Buffalo, MO and Michael Moore of Buffalo, MO; one grandson; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2020 in the Red Top Cemetery south of Buffalo under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Red Top Cemetery fund.
