Richard Leo Burch, son of the late Lester and Bernice (Walker) Burch was born on July 24, 1941 in Polk City, IA and departed this life on November 26, 2020 in Kansas City, MO. At the time of his passing he was 79 years, four months, and one day of age.

Richard was reared and attended school in Polk City, IA. He was a Golden Gloves Champion and was recruited by the Army to join their boxing team. He enlisted and was stationed at Fort Carson. After serving his country, he went to work for Firestone Tire Company. He was a volunteer Firefighter for over 20 years with the Elkhert, Iowa Township.

Richard retired after 30 years with Firestone but enjoyed working parttime for Cosentino’s Price Chopper where he made many friends. He also ran a painting business for many years. He also enjoyed fishing, watching Westerns and collecting memorabilia, and antiquing. Richard attended the Truth and Grace Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill, MO.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife Karen; his parents; and one grandchild.

He is survived by two sons, Ken & wife Melissa Burch and Patrick & wife Andent Burch; two daughters, Becky Riggs and Janet & husband Aaron Schaak; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He also leaves other family members and many friends who will all truly miss him.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 in the Macedonia Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo.
