Sign-up is under way for the 2019 Summer Reading Program at the Dallas County Library for children who have just completed fifth grade and younger. The theme is “A Universe of Stories.”

Many new books and some videos about space travel and exploration, galaxies, planets and astronomy have been added to the library collection.

In addition to reading books from the library shelves, participants can use e-book titles from Missouri Libraries 2Go and TumbleBook titles from the library website.

Story time and special activities will be held at 10 a.m. Thursdays in the library.

Five reading sheets are required to complete the program and be eligible for the grand prize drawing. Smaller prizes will be awarded with each completed sheet. The last day to turn in completed reading log sheets will be July 20.

Stop by the library at 219 W. Main St., Buffalo, to sign up for the Summer Reading Program.

For more information, go to dallascountylibrary.missouri.org, follow the library’s Facebook page or call (417) 345-2647.
