Posted

Terry Lee White, a resident of Urbana, went to be with the Lord on November 16, 2019 at the age of 65. Born February 11, 1954 in Urbana, Missouri to James (Jim) Freddrick and Leah Adelaide (Short) White.

Terry was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on June 23, 1974. He loved traveling to visit churches and preach the Word of God.

He was the youngest of 6 children born to older parents. His next in age sibling, Linda, was ten years older. They say the first word he learned was “No.” He grew up on a small farm with cows, chickens and a garden. He enjoyed the small town simple life with parents who had left their depression stricken life in Nebraska. Terry was also an Eagle Scout; he could name the trees and knew all about nature. Growing up he enjoyed exploring the woods, hunting for squirrels, fishing and swimming in the pond. The crawdads he caught were sold for just a few pennies, which was just enough to buy a soda and candy bar. Playing and coaching baseball was something Terry always enjoyed.

He graduated Friday night and went to work Saturday morning at the MFA grocery store in Urbana. It was at the MFA grocery store where he met the love of his life, a shy girl who had moved here from Oregon just a few years earlier named Darlene James. They were united in marriage July 23, 1974 in Buffalo Missouri. A couple of years later they started a family and had 5 children in the span of 8 years.

Terry learned welding while working with his father-in-law. Welding was something he found enjoyable, and he taught this trade to every one of his children and some grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Darlene, parents Jim and Leah White, sisters Helen, Betty and Marg and grandson Nahman White.

Those left to cherish his memory are

Siblings: Dave and Vicki White, Linda and Les Swearingin,

Children: James and Sherry White of Missouri

Jason and April White of Oklahoma,

Jamason White of Missouri.
