Wayne Alonzo “Bud” Randleman

Wayne Alonzo “Bud” Randleman was born on February 10th, 1927 to John Alonzo Randleman and Mary Eva (Sturdevant) Randleman in a log cabin on the family farm near Windyville, MO. He passed away on February 23rd, 2021 on his farm at home.

Bud attended school at Lone Rock and graduated from Windyville High School in 1945. After graduation, he joined the US Navy reaching the rank of Yeoman third class, with both active and reserve service of 17 years. He also graduated from Draughn Business School with an associated degree.

Bud was united in marriage to Dorothy Marie Evans of Cedar Ridge, MO on January 13th, 1948. Living in both Pekin, Illinois, and Springfield, Missouri, moving to Kansas City in 1951. Working a variety of jobs, he settled into working nights at the General Motors plant and carpentry, building houses and duplexes during the day.

In 1971 he moved his family back to the family farm near Windyville, MO to be a farmer, raising cattle, horses, and playing his fiddle, Bud spent a lifetime researching family history, contributing to two well received family history books.

Bud was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy, his parents, and daughter Regina Merlene (Randleman) Dupree.

He is survived by his children, Linda Sue, Michael Charles, and Meribah Elizabeth; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, March 1st, 2021 in the Benton Branch Cemetery with Rev Dennis Skinner officiating. Escorts will be Billy Dugan, Lyndol Sturdevant, Robert Pool, J.P. Randleman, and David Buckley.

Visitation will be held from 12:30-2:00 p.m. Monday at the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Benton Branch Church building fund.
