Elkland man in crash

An Elkland man was involved in a two-vehicle crash Monday, Aug. 6, north of Grovespring, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Angelo M. Jones, 33, of Camdenton was southbound on Mo. 5 one mile north of Grovespring at 10:13 a.m. Aug. 6 when the 2006 Pontiac G6 he was driving went off the road, returned to the road and struck a northbound 2013 Dodge Ram 5500. The Dodge was driven by Brent A. Espy, 38, of Elkland.

Jones suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital, Lebanon.

Espy was wearing a seat belt, and it is unknown if Jones were.

PH woman injured

A Pleasant Hope woman was injured Sunday, Aug. 5, in a one-vehicle incident in Brighton, according to the Highway Patrol.

William R. Jeffryes, 23, and Kelsey D. Fleetwood, 22, both of Pleasant Hope, were in a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo in a parking lot near Mo. 13 and Mo. 125 in Brighton at 12:45 p.m. Aug. 5. There was an altercation between the two people. The driver, Jeffryes, began to accelerate while making a left turn, which caused the passenger, Fleetwood, to fall out of the vehicle.

Fleetwood suffered moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital, Springfield.

Fleetwood was not wearing a seat belt, and it is unknown if Jeffryes were.

Elkland woman injured

An Elkland woman was injured Friday, Aug. 3, in a one-vehicle crash southeast of Buffalo, according to the Highway Patrol.

Chelsea G. Lightfoot, 25, was westbound on Mo. 38 nine miles southeast of Buffalo at 2:45 p.m. Aug. 3 when the 1998 Chevrolet pickup she was driving went off the road, struck a ditch and went through a fence.

Lightfoot suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital, Springfield.

She was not wearing a seat belt.

Crash near Halfway

A Seymour man was injured Thursday, Aug. 2, in a two-vehicle crash east of Halfway, according to the Highway Patrol.

William S. Dearman, 24, of Bolivar was eastbound on Mo. 32 four miles east of Halfway at 3:40 p.m. Aug. 2 when the 2007 Chevrolet 2500 he was driving slowed to make a right turn. An eastbound 1994 Chevrolet Astro van, driven by James W. Hutson, 39, of Seymour, failed to stop and struck the right side of the Chevrolet 2500.

Hutson suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Citizens Memorial Hospital, Bolivar.

Both Dearman and Hutson were wearing seat belts.

Fatal crash near FG

A Strafford woman died Thursday, Aug. 2, after a two-vehicle crash south of Fair Grove, according to the Highway Patrol.

Deloris J. Kiser, 82, of Strafford was northbound on U.S. 65 one mile south of Fair Grove on Aug. 2 when the 2011 Buick LaCrosse she was driving attempted to make a left turn onto Route KK. The Buick failed to yield to a southbound 2007 Chevrolet TrailBlazer, driven by Ronnie B. Gallion, 18, of Aurora.

Kiser was pronounced dead at 3:19 p.m. Aug. 2 by Tom Van De Berg, chief forensic investigator for the Greene County medical examiner’s office.

Gallion suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Cox South Hospital, Springfield.

This was Troop D’s 69th fatality for 2018.

Both Kiser and Gallion were wearing seat belts.

Buffalo woman injured

A Buffalo woman was injured Wednesday, Aug. 1, in a two-vehicle crash north of Buffalo, according to the Highway Patrol.

Charles D. Cuno, 62, of New Bloomfield was southbound on Mo. 73 at Mo. 64, seven miles north of Buffalo, at 4:25 p.m. Aug. 1 when the 2000 Ford F-250 he was driving failed to stop for a stop sign. At the intersection, the Ford struck an eastbound 2010 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Teresa J. Willis, 59, of Buffalo.

Willis suffered moderate injuries and was taken by air ambulance to Mercy Hospital.

Both Willis and Cuno were wearing seat belts.
