Don Breithaupt is a good neighbor. One of the best — truly. I can attest to that because he is my neighbor. When I first moved to my new home in the Charity area in 1992, little did I know that a local boy would be moving back to his roots nearby in a few years. Don Breithaupt had grown up about a half a mile away from my new property. He had moved away for a while to establish his future career but always had a desire to return to the wooded area he roamed as a kid. In 1997 that dream became a reality and now he’s been living back home in Dallas County ever since. more

We would like to thank the staff and volunteers from the Buffalo, Buffalo Rural, and Prairie Grove Fire Departments for their quick, professional and effective response to the grass fire threatening our farm property recently. In reality, the grass and timber were the least of concerns as the jumping fire was surrounded on all sides by houses, schools and livestock. Given a less coordinated, trained or proficient group or responders, this scenario may have ended much differently. We greatly appreciate all of our emergency public servants who are not just doing a job, but doing something the rest of us can’t do, with excellence. Sometimes, our lives and livelihoods are completely in your hands, and that doesn’t go unnoticed. Thank you.  more
