End of the year updates were given at the most recent Chamber of Commerce meeting on December 13 at JEMS Steakhouse Restaurant. Community members in attendance were able to hear from Mayor Brandon Kenall, as well as John Crawford, who is the Dallas County Presiding Commissioner and Sandy Crawford, Missouri State Senator. more

Faith Christian Church is hosting the "Longest Night Service" on the winter solstice at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 21. In addition, the Christmas Candle Light service will be on Christmas Eve, 7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 24. The church meets in the Fellowship Hall at the United Methodist Church on Pine St., Buffalo. more

The Buffalo Garden Club held its October meeting on Thursday the 26th. The members attending are Cecilia Dixon, Darlene Dufeck, Reita Hoogland, Shirley Hyatt, Thelma Kurtz, Thomi McDaniel, Pam Meyer, Jeanie Smith, Hope Stubbs, Liz Van Dee, and Janet Wood. The roll call question was 'Do you Have a favorite place to rest in your garden and where?'  Most of the placers were under or near a shade tree and a comfortable chair. After this past summer most of the best relaxing places were indoors out of the heat and sun. more
AmVets Post 117 at 1005 S. Ash Street in Buffalo will be serving cookies with Santa from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.on Saturday, Dec. 16. The public is invited, Especially the kiddies, who will have a chance to tell their Christmas wish list to Santa Claus. more
