Fair Grove’s high school boys cross country team placed eighth and the girls placed ninth at the Hollister Cross Country Meet on Sept. 17. There were 15 varsity teams in the event.

In the boys meet there were 122 runners, and Liam Draper was the Eagles’ leading runner with a time of 19:15.58 as he placed 28th. Luke Buescher was 31st, folllowed by Hunter Lambeth 50th, Braden Booth 63rd and Isaac Walters 65th.

Helping the girls to their eighth-place finish was Caitlyn Wilson, wno placed 54th among 92 runners with a time of 27:41.34. Other placements among the girls were: Anna Newlin 67th, Johnna Duncan 73rd, Hailey Merillat 77th, Zoey Hupman 79th and Evyn Jones 80th.

The Fair Grove Middle School boys finished fifth overall, led by Nolen Geitz, who medaled by placing 10th. Atticus Brandes was 17th, followed by Macklen Johnson 25th, Wes Buescher 36th and Gavin Brock 40th. Willow Buescher was the only Fair Grove girl, and she placed 17th.
