Fair Grove’s volleyball team had a great week last week, defeating Bolivar and arch rival Strafford, then finishing third in the Willard Tournament. As a result, the Lady Eagles now have a 23-4-2 record.
The week started with a win over Bolivar 25-10, 25-14 as Alana Findley hd 10 kills, 2 blocks and 8 digs and Sidney Hill had 2 blocks. Maranntha Holliman hd 12 assists.
The Lady Eagles then hosted Strafford on Thursday, Oct. 4 and won 25-20, 24-26, 25-15. Findley dominated again, executing 17 kills and 4 blocks. Ryah Icenhower had 17 assists, Shannon Collins added 13 digs, Bailee Morgan had 2 aces and Hill had 4 blocks.
In the Willard Tournament on Saturday, the Lady Eagle roared through pool play with a 3-0-1 record. This included a win over Aurora 26-24, 25-14 and a split with Rogersville 23-25, 18-25. The Lady Eagles then defeated Buffalo 25-14, 25-21 and easily won against Mountain Grove 25-14, 25-15.
In the semifinals Fair Grove lost to Willard 12-25, 17-25, but then won third place by beating Rolla 25-20, 25-16.
Stat leaders for the day were Findley, with 54 kills and 15 blocks; Icenhower with 57 assists; and Macey Stallings and Collins with 35 digs each.
