Buffalo’s volleyball team did well in conference last week, beating El Dorado Springs and Warsaw. But then they went 0-3-1 in the Willard Tournament over the weekend.
The Lady Bison started off the week by handily defeating El Dorado Springs 25-10. 25-6 in the Ozark Mountain Conference as Delaney Miller had 16 kills and 9 digs, plus 2 aces. Lexi Jack added 21 assists, 2 kills and 4 digs. Madison Andrews registered 11 kills, 20 digs and 1 ace, and Maddie Jacobs had 7 kills and 8 digs.
Later in the week Buffalo beat Warsaw 25-13, 25-11 as Jack had 11 assists, 2 digs and 2 aces. Andrews had 8 digs and 1 assist while Bethany Lancaster added 4 kills and 1 dig.
“Another conference win, we played well against Warsaw,” said coach Carmen Smith.
Buffalo started the Willard Tournament by splitting a pair of games with Mountain Grove, 24-26, 25-20, then the Lady Bison lost to Logan-Rogersville 16-25, 10-25. They were then edged by Aurora 23-25, 21-25 and lost to Fair Grove 14-25, 21-25.
“We didn’t play our best at the Willard Tournament,” Smith said. “We played well at times, but we were very inconsistent. I see so much potential in the girls, we just have to figure out how to reach it all at the same time.”
