Filing opened Tuesday, Dec. 15, for the April 6 municipal and school board elections. The deadline to file for any of the elections is Jan. 19.

Several people have filed for some of the local positions that are up for election, including the following:

• City of Buffalo Board of Aldermen and mayor: An alderman position from Ward 1, Ward 2 and Ward 3, all for two-year terms, will be up for election, as will the mayor’s two-year seat. James Ferrell has filed for Ward 3 alderman, and Scott Decker has filed for Ward 2 alderman. Brandon Kenall has filed for mayor. As of Monday morning, no one had filed for the other Board of Aldermen position.

• Dallas County R-1 School District Board of Education: Two three-year terms will be voted on in April. As of Monday morning, three people have filed for school board, including Christine Abmeyer, Toby Beamer and Curtis Skinner.

• City of Urbana Board of Aldermen. Two at-large aldermen positions for two-year terms and one at-large alderman position for a one-year term will be voted on in April. As of Monday morning, Dana Elliott had filed for a two-year term.

• Dallas County Health Department Board of Trustees. Two four-year board terms will be voted on in April. As of Monday morning, Teresa Melton and Lisa Reeves had filed.

• Hickory County R-1 (Skyline) School District Board of Education. As of Monday morning, four people had filed, including Josh Hartley, Kurtis Brown, Dakota Yates and Clint Kelley.

• City of Fair Grove Board of Aldermen. An alderman position from Ward 1, Ward 2 and Ward 3, all for two-year terms, will be up for election. As of Monday morning, Dayna Ault had filed for Ward 1, Dennis Roe had filed for Ward 2, and Don Wolfe and Richard Icenhower had both filed for Ward 3.

• Fair Grove R-10 School District Board of Education. Two board positions, each for three-year terms, are up for election. As of Monday morning, Kelly Sutherland and David Brunner had filed.

• Fair Grove Fire Protection District board of directors. One seat on the board of directors for a six-year term is up for election. As of Jan. 4, no one had filed.

• Public Water Supply District No. 5 of Greene County. One board member will be elected in April for a three-year term. As of Monday morning, Stephen Short had filed.

• Southern Dallas County Fire Protection District Board. As of Monday morning, Archie Ritch and Dave Moore had filed.

• Macks Creek R-5 School District Board of Education. Two board positions are up for election. As of Monday morning, Byron Willis and Jim Wehmeyer had filed.
