Immanuel in Rader had a beautiful early Easter morning service followed by a breakfast that was delicious. The kids all hurried through breakfast so they could get outside to hunt Easter eggs. Thank you, Sondra Caffey and Kathy McGovern, for getting so much of the cleanup done. It was wonderful to have the church packed with worshipers, and I sure enjoyed saying hello to so many new and old friends.

Twenty members of the Pauline Hendrix family got together for lunch on Easter Sunday. They enjoyed egg hunts for six kids and 14 adults. The Carl Vessey family went to Licking to visit grandparents Gary and Alice, and there was a big gathering at the Eureka Family Center to celebrate Leona Medlock’s birthday.

Happy birthday to Nick Wade, Neely Long, Quinton Hert, Leona Medlock, Chloe Ridgley, Caleb and Gracie Essary, Elgie Bergman, Madison Stoner, Justin Burns, Anna Marie O’Brian, Kim Stevens, Avery Bowman, Stacy Terry, Howard Twyman, Bonnie Wilcox, Jaxson Yelvington and Walker Kays.

Happy 50th anniversary to Dale and Sondra Caffey. You are invited to help them celebrate on Sunday, April 11, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Conway Civic Center.

We have many who are sick or just need special prayers: Marie Stuber, Reggie Terry, Otto Terry, Terrill Vestal and Susan Case. Betty Stokes is back home after spending a few nights in the hospital. Olive Mace continues to improve after a startling reaction to the second vaccine. She turned a bright reddish color that has lasted more than a couple of days.

An old-fashioned church service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran on April 18 starting at 10 a.m. Please dress in an “old-fashioned” way if you can, especially the 1890s when the Rader church was started.

The women’s LWML will meet at 5 p.m. April 11 at the Rader church basement. All women of the congregation are invited to attend. That is where the planning gets done for events throughout the year.

Bob and Pam Doing had company from Salem, Ala., on Good Friday. Pam’s sister Peggy Robinson and her husband, Dean, came for a visit.

Dave and Nina Walke visited Bonnie Wilcox and helped her celebrate her birthday, and Braydon Powers had a birthday party on Saturday afternoon.

Mark your calendar for the Helping Hand Club quilt and bake sale at Morgan Store on April 24 from 8 a.m. to noon. If you want something special baked, leave the order at the Morgan Store.

If you know of anyone who cleans and repairs sewing machines, please call and let me know at 417-473-4829. Some of the quilters are needing some work done.

Please carry the joy of Easter Sunday with you throughout this week.
