Skyline's Leah King gets ready to make a good hit against Strafford. 

Skyline’s volleyball team is fourth-seeded in the Class 2, District 12 Tournament that starts Monday, Oct. 22 at Stockton.

The Lady Tigers will open the tournament at 5 p.m. against fifth-seeded Stockton, and this will be followed by second-seeded Butler vs. seventh-seeded Warsaw at 6:15 p.m. Third-seeded Lamar will face sixth-seeded Pleasant Hope at 7:30 p.m.

The winner of the Skyline-Stockton game will play top-seeded El Dorado Springs in the semifinals Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 5 p.m., and the other semifinals contest will take place at 6:30 p.m. The championship game will be played at 8 p.m.

In the meantime, Skyline defeated Lakeland last week in two sets and lost to Strafford in two sets.

Against Lakeland the stats were as follows: Angelina Curtis 2 aces, 1 kill, 5 digs; Jadyn Foster 1 kills, 2 blocks; Ella Dougherty 7 assists, 1 block, 3 digs; Kylie Craig 6 kills, 1 ace, 5 digs; Abby Grisham 4 kills, 1 ace, 8 digs; Leah King 1 ace, 4 assists, 2 digs.

In the game against Strafford, stats were; Curtis 1 kill, 10 digs; foster 1 kill, 2 digs; Dougherty 1 kills, 5 assists, 7 digs; Craig 2 kills, 2 digs; Grisham 2 aces, 1 kill, 3 digs; King 2 assists, 5 digs.

Before the district tournament, though, the Lady Tigers have two games. They were scheduled to host Versailles yesterday (Tuesday) and will play at Conway on Thursday.
