Esther “Trixie” L. Staten was born Jan 14, 1926 to Arthur McIntire and Ethel (Thompson) McIntire in Rockville, Mo. where she attended school.
The family moved to Kansas City, where she met and married Harold Staten and they had four children. They settled in St. Joseph, After Harold’s death in 1972, she moved her family to Wheatland. She was a member of the Wheatland Christian Church and taught Sunday School for more than 25 years. In 1999, she moved to Buffalo, to be closer to family members.
She was a fantastic cook and loved cooking for the holidays when her family would make a house full.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, two sisters and one brother, a daughter, Tammy, in 1988 and a son, Hollie, in 2000.
She is survived by two daughters, Denise Searcy of Buffalo, and Karen Fenton of Dixon, four grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
In her later years, she was known to get on the floor and wrestle with the kids. She was so loved and will truly be missed by so many. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
