Seven cross country runners in the Reflex readership area qualified for the state meat by placing in the top 30 at the district meet over the weekend. It used to be the top 15, but last year the state assigned teams to four super districts instead of eight.

Warsaw’s football team outscored Buffalo 27-0 in the second half Friday night to wallop the Bison 43-6 in the last regular-season game for both teams.The fifth-seeded Bison, 3-6, will travel to fourth-seeded Eldon, 2-7, this Friday for the opening round of the Class 3, District 5 Tournament.

Buffalo’s volleyball team had little trouble with Warsaw in an Ozark Highlands Conference match Thursday, Oct. 5. The Lady Bison won 25-17, 25-18, 25-13 and improved their record to 25-4-3.

Skyline’s football team remained winless in five games after losing at Forsyth 48-8 last week in a Mid-Lakes Conference game. The Panthers led 14-0 at the quarter, 28-8 at the half and 48-8 at the end of three.

Buffalo’s recent ability to stop two-point conversion plays was a major factor in the Bison’s 14-12 homecoming win over Skyline Friday night. In fact, the Bison defense has kept their opponents from being successful on two-pointers five straight times during the past two games.
