The Fair Grove soccer team won two of its three games this past week.
A group of boys and girls, ages 10 to 15, have joined together along with their parents to start a new competitive soccer league. Practices will be in Buffalo, and games will be on the outdoor fields of Lake Country Soccer in Springfield.
The Fair Grove girls soccer team racked up two more wins this past week. The Lady Eagles shut out Stover 7-0 on March 29 and then defeated Monett 2-1 on March 31.
The Fair Grove soccer team took first place in its Fair Grove Tournament, which was Sept. 4-5. The Eagles defeated Riverton (Kan.), Aurora and Laquey to earn the championship. This was the first time in four years of hosting the tournament that Fair Grove won all three games to take first place.
Fair Grove’s girls soccer team defeated Aurora at home Friday to improve its record to 9-4. Last year the Lady Eagles finished 13-9, “and we're trying to compete with our own past a little bit and show that we’re improving,” said coach Joseph Florez.
