Support the Troops and the DAVA packed the troops' Christmas boxes Tuesday, Nov. 26, and headed to the post office. Volunteers loaded the 35 medium-sized flat-rate boxes that bulged with health and beauty items, food, candy, and entertainment items into Granny Painter’s car. At the post office, the clerks were ready for her with carts to carry the packages inside. Two heaping carts and an armload got the boxes into the post office’s care. They are stamped with the postal services’ Breast Cancer Research Awareness stamps, which community members donated for the Support the Troops’ cause through the month of October.
