Posted

Deanna Moore has been selected as the new publisher of the Phillips Media weekly group in southwest Missouri. Moore will be in charge of the daily newspaper operations for The Marshfield Mail, Christian County Headliner, Buffalo Reflex, Cedar County Republican and Bolivar Herald-Free Press.
“I am beyond thrilled to be named publisher of the Phillips Media weekly papers,” Moore said. “I look forward to working with the local staff at each paper to continue the great local coverage you are accustomed to.”
The announcement was made by Jim Holland, president of Phillips Media.
“Deanna has been an asset to our sales department and operations in southwest Missouri for a long time,” Holland said. “She has proven herself as someone who has a great understanding of customer needs and what it takes to make a successful newspaper. We’re very excited for her.”
Moore takes the place of J.T. Strasner, who has accepted a publisher position at a newspaper in Texas.

Moore has been directing advertising at the Bolivar Herald-Free Press for the past two decades. She will continue those responsibilities for the time being.
“Working with Deanna has been a real highlight of my time in Missouri,” Strasner said. “When it came time to consider the next publisher for this group, it was clear that Deanna was the right choice. I’m so happy for her and confident she will do a great job in this role.”
Moore previously worked at the Springfield News-Leader and has been active in local chamber of commerce work, as well.
Moore and her husband, Byron, are lifelong residents of Polk County. They have three grown children: Austin and Allie Moore of Springfield, Jimmy and Aubrey Wilkinson of Bolivar, and Billy and Cortni Lowery of Fair Grove. They have three grandchildren and a fourth on the way.
Phillips Media operates daily and weekly newspapers in Missouri, Arkansas and Illinois.
