Services: 10 a.m. Nov. 30, Cantlon Otterness Funeral Home of Buffalo. Burial was in Stoutland Cemetery. Visitation: 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Virginia R. Henson, 85, was born Sept. 14, 1928. She died Nov. 27, 2013, in Lebanon.

She was a homemaker and a generous woman. She never met a stranger.

She loved to bake and took pride in every meal. She was well-known for her biscuits and gravy.

She also loved sewing and made clothes and curtains. She was a member of the Fourth Avenue Baptist Church in Louisville, Ky., and worked as an elevator operator in the Starks Building in Louisville, which contained lawyers offices.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James Martin; and one sister, Rosa Lee Martin.

Survivors include her husband, James Eugene Henson; a son, Odell Keith; four daughters: Virginia Woosley, Alice Howlett, Roberta Smith and Auburn Thornton; nine grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and other family members and many friends who will all truly miss her.
