Dennis Ray Walters, son of the late Donald and Mary “Mert” (Killion) Walters, was born on August 29, 1947 in Gardner, KS and departed this life on February 18, 2020 at his home in Conway, MO. At the time of his passing he was 72 years, 5 months, and 18 days of age.

Dennis was united in marriage to Lena Jones on November 9, 1984 in Olathe, KS. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend to all.

He was a member of the Charity Missionary Baptist Church, and attended faithfully as long as his health permitted. Dennis enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and camping. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, David Walters and Larry Walters; and one sister, Diane Anderson.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lena of the home; three sons, Donald & wife Tamra Walters of Van Buren, AR, Justin & wife Kristy Dill of Conway, MO, and Jason Dill of Conway, MO; one daughter, Dennise Meyer of Kansas City, KS; one brother; three sisters; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He also leaves other family members and many friends who will all truly miss him.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the Cantlon Otterness & Viets Funeral Home with Elder Rick Jones and Elder Scott Reynolds officiating. Escorts will be Croix Walters, Conrad Walters, Caleb Walters, Don Walters, Justin Dill, and Hunter Whitmarsh. Honorary escorts will be Chris Meyer, Dennis Walters, and Jason Dill. Interment will be in the Bethel Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. Saturday at the Funeral Home. Dinner will be held at the Charity Missionary Baptist Church following the graveside service.
